A celebration and recognition of excellence within Northamptonshire’s food and drink sector

The Weetabix Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards is an annual competition run by the sector for the sector and which is aimed at celebrating all that is great about local food and drink, recognising excellence within the county’s dining and drinking venues and rewarding those who work so hard within the culinary sector.

Launched in the spring each year, the Awards attract hundreds of entries from restaurants, pubs, chefs, cafés and producers as well as nominations and recommendations from the public and following months of judging – including tasting panels, mystery shopping visits, cook-offs and public voting – the competition usually culminates in a spectacular Awards Dinner in the autumn at which the results in all categories are announced.

Owing to the introduction of the second lockdown, which again forced the temporary closure of the hospitality sector, this year's Awards results are taking place over 'three courses'.

The first course took place on Thursday 12th November and, owing to lockdown restrictions, was a recorded presentation of the results in the product and drink (and related) categories. You can view the video at YouTube.

The second course is taking place at 7pm this coming Tuesday, 23rd February - again online at www.youtube.com and search for #WNFAD20 - and will feature the results in the 'Local Food Hero of the Year', 'Chef of the Year' and 'Booker Young Chef of the Year' categories.

The date of the third course, at which the results in the remaining categories will be announced, will be revealed via our social media platforms, so please follow us on Facebook at @foodawards and on twitter and Instagram at @foodawardsHQ and on LinkedIn at @weetabixnfadawards
