Weetabix Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards 2020/21

Now in its 12th year, the Weetabix Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards is an annual competition run by the sector for the sector and which is aimed at celebrating all that is great about local food and drink, recognising excellence within the county’s dining and drinking venues and rewarding those who work so hard within the culinary sector. We are extremely proud of the impact that the competition has had on the sector in the county over the past eleven years and indeed, from very humble beginnings - just four categories in the first year – there are twelve categories this year, with those for eateries, producers, chefs, entrepreneurs and students – all of which are free to enter

Each year, the Awards attract hundreds of entries from restaurants, pubs, chefs, cafés and producers as well as nominations and recommendations from the public and following months of judging – including tasting panels, mystery shopping visits, cook-offs and public tastings – the competition culminates in a spectacular Awards celebration in the autumn, this year being sponsored by Weetabix, one of the world’s leading providers of healthy breakfast cereals, at which the results in all categories are announced.

We are proud to work with our sponsors, without whom the Awards would not be possible. Their generous support allows us to promote the competition right across the county and to engage new and previous entrants and to keep the public up to date on what is happening in the food and drink scene each year.

We are also delighted to have William Sitwell, Mary Laing and Sophie Grigson as the Patrons of the Awards – their personal involvement with the different categories adds something very special to this competition.
